“The announcement of the first resort hotel with a seaside resort location is proof of Accor’s confidence in Lithuania as a leisure destination. Together with our partners, UAB Eskom, Accor commits to bringing high standards and the latest innovations in hospitality to Lithuania and the region. Palanga is one of the fastest-growing touristic spots in the country, which attracted more tourists in 2021 than in 2019. This shows great potential to introduce the globally renowned Mercure brand, helping more tourists from the whole of Europe to discover this beautiful place” says Katarzyna Sławińska, Development Executive Poland and Baltic Countries at Accor.
Mercure Palanga Vanagupe Resort & Spa will be the first hotel in the city to open under an international brand. Palanga is the largest and most popular seaside resort in Lithuania, open all year round. The municipality is famous for its beautiful beaches with white sand and dunes, which can be found nowhere else on the Baltic Sea coast.
“We have been part of Palanga’s journey to becoming a truly European holiday destination for more than 15 years already. The city will be developing into the most favourite touristic destination in Lithuania in the upcoming years. We are excited to remain part of the city’s development and to further contribute to its tourist offering, with a new international hotel brand”, says Eimantas Skrabulis, board member of UAB Eskom.
“With this collaboration, we are confident that we will be able to attract even more international guests to enjoy the beauty of Palanga and the level of guest service and experiences brought by the Mercure brand”, adds Michael Pawlowski board member of UAB Eskom.
The Mercure Palanga Vanagupe Resort & Spa hotel will stand out with its perfect location: 15 minutes walk from the beach, 3 km away from the city centre, and 5 km from the International Airport.
Through the Mercure brand, Accor promises a completely new hotel experience. Each facility has its own unique style and personality inspired by the local environment and culture. According to the brand's DNA, Mercure hotels are rooted in their local community, providing a full experience of the authenticity of the region, with its cuisine, crafts, and traditions.
