Winner of the International Ibis Music Competiton Announced

PARIS, October 22nd 2019 – On August 7, 2019, the nine finalists of the ibis MUSIC Contest performed on the Europe Stage presented by ibis at Sziget Festival, Hungary. Selected by an independent panel of judges, Maria Yfeu has been announced as the winner of the ibis MUSIC competition, which started off with 89 emerging artists from across 17 countries worldwide.

Between March and June 2019,
more than 80 emerging artists performed in
ibis hotels around the globe. At the end of this initial stage, nine artists were selected by the competition’s jury to perform on one of the
most impressive stages at the
Sziget Festival, the
Europe Stage, presented by ibis. These artists included
Naë (France),
Nxdia (UK),
Gilsons (Brazil),
Moglii (Germany),
Maria Yfeu (Spain),
Qaayel (Morocco),
MVNSI (Belgium),
So Flow (Poland), and
Glass Cristina (Mexico). Each artist had the opportunity to perform live on stage at the festival in a back-to-back musical showcase. Content from their live performances, which was captured for the public to view and listen to, was featured on

Cool incentives, tailored support for the winner
Bringing her act to the Europe Stage presented by ibis, was the lauded prize for
Maria Yfeu who had performed previously at the ibis Aeropuerto Barajas, entertaining guests and locals alike. Following a fantastic performance, which included tracks “Grudges” and “Let it Grow (up)”, Maria Yfeu was named the overall winner of the ibis MUSIC competition. Originally from Seville, she draws her inspiration from singers like Billie Holiday and Amy Winehouse. As the winner of the international ibis MUSIC competition, she will benefit from a day’s mentoring at Sony Music headquarters in London on October 25, 2019.
