The train pays tribute to the years of “La Dolce Vita”, a fantastic period of history, to the artistic and cultural fervour of Italy in the 1960s. Designed by Dimorestudio, the architecture and design studio founded by Emiliano Salci and Britt Moran in 2003, the Orient Express La Dolce Vita train combines the Italian way of life with the contemporary spirit of travel. The train's sumptuous decor will be applied to 12 deluxe cabins, 18 suites, 1 "La Dolce Vita" suite and a restaurant, and will boldly celebrate the arts and crafts, design, and creativity of the 1960s and 1970s.
In collaboration with the best international chefs and sommeliers, travellers will enjoy 5-star service on board, discovering the treasures and excellence of the "Made in Italy" way, savouring its gastronomy and the finest Italian wines. At Rome Ostiense station, the Orient Express Lounge will welcome passengers, offering a selection of refreshments and providing advice and recommendations for an unforgettable journey.
With the support of Accor, the official hospitality partner of this project, and thanks to a partnership with Trenitalia - Gruppo Ferrovie dello Stato - and the Fondazione FS Italiane, the Orient Express La Dolce Vita will invite passengers to travel along more than 16,000 km of railway lines – reminding them of the country's historical treasures.
In 2021, Orient Express announced plans for its new Orient Express La Dolce Vita train. This year, Orient Express returns to the world’s flagship luxury travel trade show - ILTM Cannes - from December 5th to 8th 2022, where it will officially open pre-reservations for the highly anticipated train service. During the ILTM event, conference attendees will have the opportunity to celebrate from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. daily with Orient Express La Dolce Vita aperitivos.
The pre-booking system will be open to travellers and travel agents from December 6th.
To pre-book: contact your local reservation desk who will register and check-in priority travellers and call them back in priority before online sales open. Contact information will be available at www.orient-express.com/la-dolce-vita as of December 6th.
To be considered as a "priority traveller", guests will be required to pre-book for a value of €500, which is refundable at any time. If the final booking is confirmed, this €500 deposit will then be deducted from the final price of the complete trip.
