“There is no better rush than being active, which is why ibis budget has made urban sport a key differentiator of the brand,” said Martine Gorce-Momboisse, SVP Global Marketing, Economy & Midscale brands, Accor. “We have found a perfect match with Red Bull Street Style and are thrilled to be their official global partner for the 2021 freestyle football events. We invite travellers, locals and freestyle fans to use our hotels as smart basecamps, providing sports equipment and in-hotel training tips to keep fit during their stay.”
ibis budget, a brand that draws its inspiration from Urban Sport and fosters daily adventures for its guests, will actively follow the competition through the eyes of talented participating athletes and special global ambassadors who will share their knowledge and perspectives, including tips and fun challenges, on the @ibisbudget Instagram account.
Providing its fans and followers with an “insiders view” into the action, ibis budget has appointed three global ambassadors to share stories, celebrate the urban sport lifestyle, and add colourful context of the freestyle football competition throughout the journey to the finals.
Mélody Donchet @melofreestyleball is a six-time world championship winner from France, and the current female world champion. British John Farnworth @john.farnworth is a multiple world record holder, and Antonio Sanz @antosanz_ is the current freestyle football champion of Spain.
“What I most enjoy about this tournament is that every year is uniquely different, all the way back to its launch in 2008. Each competition brings new and diverse influences, new competitors and more challenging trick innovations that keep it fresh year after year,” said Mélody Donchet. “The addition of ibis budget will bring another perspective and new audiences to this incredible event.”
“Freestyle football is rooted in creativity, self-expression, street style, and dance,” said John Farnworth. “Current events and culture heavily influence the style each year as well, so as a freestyle athlete, it is exciting to experience that constant progression, not only in the competition, but in the craft and sport as well. I am honoured to work with ibis budget to help expand awareness and participation of the world championships.”
“I am proud to be an ambassador of ibis budget this year, as freestyle football is all about expression of your personal best skills,” said Antonio Sanz. “Everyone involved in the sport recognises the unique physical conditioning and expertise necessary to excel at freestyle football tricks., Partnering with ibis budget allows us the opportunity to share more of these talents and skills with the world.”
“The freestyle football community is thrilled to have an international brand like ibis budget involved in the Red Bull Street Style event, especially given its commitment to the urban sport lifestyle,” said Dan Wood, co-founder and head of partnerships, WFFA. “Freestyle football continues to grow in popularity and is strongly influenced by contemporary street lifestyle, art and athletics. ibis budget shares these values, expressing them through hospitality, which we believe our athletes and fans will appreciate as they travel the world in pursuit of their passion.”
