The interior design was commissioned to Sundukovy Sisters S+S, one of the fastest growing and creative architectural studios in the hospitality industry and winners of Designers of the year 2018 title awarded by The Gold Key Awards, New York. The main goal was to preserve the building of the former department store - Evmolpia, well known landmark for Plovdiv city, by reviving the original features of the building and incorporating them in the hotel design with attention to local heritage. Further reflecting Bulgarian glorious history, the iconic design of The Emporium Plovdiv - MGallery incorporates shimmering gold panels throughout the hotel universe. PLOVDIV – HISTORIC AND CULTURAL TREASURE OF BULGARIA
Plovdiv is the second largest city in Bulgaria, standing on the banks of the Maritsa River in the historical region of Thrace. It is also cultural capital of Bulgaria and was the European Capital of Culture in 2019. The modern centre of the city provides entertainment and rich cultural life. International Fair - Plovdiv is committed to organize the biggest, most prestigious fairs and specialized exhibitions in Bulgaria all year round. The town is always unique and fascinating. In the winter it is fabulously white, in the spring it is covered with green and flowers, in the summer it is almost unreal in the ghastly heat of Thracia, in the autumn it is calm and placid, with ripe figs and sweet grapes dropping into soft foliage.
