Mercure Opens in the Coastal Destination of Ulsan, South Korea
Located at Jeongja Beach, the 131-room midscale hotel overlooks a picturesque ocean view
Rooted in its surroundings, each Mercure hotel’s design and decor reflects an authentic and inspiring setting of its own classical style and cultural heritage. The interior decor of the hotel is inspired by the polygon shapes of the volcanic rocks at the nearby beach whilst its interior silhouettes are adorned by the mountainous view of the city.
“The opening of Mercure Ambassador Ulsan marks the 24th hotel in South Korea. Home to Mount Gagi, the tallest mountain in the city and one of the most breathtaking in the country, Ulsan features some of the best Korean beaches out there. Perfect for business and leisure travelers, the hotel offers a picturesque ocean view of the coastal area,” said Patrick Basset, Chief Operating Office of Accor, Upper Southeast & Northeast Asia and the Maldives.
Boasting 131 guest rooms that overlook the magnificent views of the ocean, the rooms feature Simmons bedding, a 49” LED TV, WiFi internet connection and signature in-room amenities. Diners can enjoy a range of Eastern and Western cuisines at the signature Opus restaurant. Leisure facilities include a spa and an on-site fitness centre for guests to keep up with their health routines with professional trainers.
For weddings, events and corporate meetings, the hotel features five meeting rooms that can cater up to 250 guests while the spacious outdoor terrace offers the perfect space for an evening cocktail or a private get-together.
In the evenings, guests staying at the Mercure Ambassador Ulsan can enjoy a coastal walk alongside the beachfront hotel while fishing enthusiasts can head to the East Sea for a night catch which is renowned for its beautiful clear sea waters.
“Ulsan is renowned for its industrial district and home to serene mountain views, ecological parks, and beautiful beaches. This is the first internationally branded hotel in Ulsan and the Mercure Ambassador Ulsan aims to create a locally-inspired experience that reflects the charm of the city,” said Derek Eoh, General Manager of Mercure Ambassador Ulsan.
