AccorHotels and Ambassador Hotel Group of Korea announced their 30th Anniversary of partnership in South Korea and held a press conference in Grand Ambassador Seoul associated with Pullman on November 1, 2017 in Seoul, Korea.
It has been 30 years since AccorHotels signed a partnership agreement with Ambassador Hotel Group of Korea in 1987. With AccorHotels’ global network and disruptive business strategy and Ambassador Group’s local expertise, Accor Ambassador Korea is now operating 23 hotels in 6 major cities in Korea. With the partnership, AccorHotels successfully introduced Grand Mercure, Pullman, Novotel Suites, Novotel, Mercure, ibis Styles, ibis, and ibis Budget in the Korean market.
Ambassador Hotel Group started their endeavor in the hospitality industry in Korea in 1955. They have the most extensive history as the hotel operator in Korea. In 1987, when the market was booming with American hotel operators, Ambassador Hotel Group made a strategic business decision to partner with AccorHotels to differentiate themselves in the market.
AccorHotels is the only global hotel operator that is changing the paradigm and re-defining the meaning of the hotel industry. Realizing that a hotel is more than just a stay, AccorHotels is making groundbreaking decisions to invest in businesses and brands that can bring innovative extra services and diversify offers for local communities, guests, partners and investors. AccorHotels’ recent investments include: onefinestay, Travel Keys, Squarebreak, 25hours Hotels, and Potel & Chabot and Noctis. Each of these acquisitions or alliances has been made to enable AccorHotels to stay relevant in the changing world of travel and to offer its guests even more services and brands to choose from to deliver a better guest experience.
AccorHotels continues strengthening its leadership in the luxury segment in Asia Pacific since the acquisition of FRHI and aims to increase its presence in the luxury and upscale sectors across the network. The recent signing of the first Fairmont hotel in Korea highlights the diversification of the brand portfolio in the Asia Pacific region. AccorHotels’ expansion in South Korea will continue to escalate with the signing of this first luxury hotel, which is set to become the group’s 28th property.
AccorHotels also aims to introduce unique and disruptive brands such as Jo&Joe in Asia Pacific to further diversify the brand portfolio and meet the ever-changing needs of millennial consumers.
With the introduction of new brands and new hotel openings, by the end of 2021, the network in South Korea will include 32 hotels with 9,124 rooms.
