AccorHotels Vietnam World Masters Golf Championship returns to Danang for the third time this year year since its inaugural launch in 2015.
From 13 to 19 August, the week-long event will give amateur golfers over the age of 35 an opportunity to enjoy a game of golf, mingle at social events, and experience the cultural lifestyle of the city. Like the last two championships, the event will once again attract avid golfers from Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, the Philippines, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and host country, Vietnam.
“We are honoured to play host to the annual AccorHotels Vietnam World Masters Golf Championship once again for the third consecutive year,” says Patrick Basset, Chief Operating Officer for AccorHotels Upper Southeast and Northeast Asia. “This year, more than 140 avid golfers from around the world will participate in this event. Danang is growing into one of the most organized urban area, with attractive beach front villas on the one side and Han River flowing on the other. Currently, AccorHotels has 25 properties ranging from economy to luxury brands across Vietnam and seven of them are located in Danang at the beach front, city centre or nearby cultural attractions.”
The tournament is jointly hosted by Golfasian and Australia-based Go Golfing Travel, which have been staging World Masters tournaments for more than 20 years. Held at the luxurious Pullman Danang Beach Resort, which overlooks 20 kilometres of pristine beach, the hotel is is located close to UNESCO world heritage sites such as the ancient trading port of Hoi An, the citadel in the former imperial city of Hue and the My Son (Hindu) Sanctuary. Participants will play rounds at Danang Golf Club, named by Golf Magazine USA in 2010 as one of the top 15 golf courses to open worldwide, and Montgomerie Links Vietnam, which was voted Best Golf Course in Vietnam in 2010 and 2011 by Vietnam Golf Magazine.
