Fairmont, the distinctive luxury brand under the world-leading hospitality group Accor, announces the latest addition in Wuhan, marking a new era of refined luxury lifestyle for Central China.
Fairmont Wuhan is situated in the capital of Hubei province at a significant transportation interchange, with river, road and rail links stretching outwards from its center to the rest of the country, and the world beyond. Wuhan is respected globally for its high tech and automotive industries and very soon as a world class hydrogen city by 2025. Fairmont Wuhan is part of a mixed use development adjacent to an expansive shopping mall and encircled by high end residential and commercial towers. It is a 30 minutes’ drive to Wuhan Tianhe International Airport and 5 minutes to Hankou Railway Station.
Gary Rosen, Chairman and Chief Operating Officer, Accor Greater China, said: “Our acclaimed and iconic Fairmont brand is ideal for people seeking prestigious and exclusive experiences to celebrate their milestone events in life and at work. Fairmont hotels around the globe are places where moments are transformed into cherished memories thanks to the hotels’ charismatic ambience, impeccable and engaging services, as well as inspiring dining options. Fairmont Wuhan is strategically positioned in a district that will be a focal point for Wuhan’s vibrant development.”
Fairmont Wuhan is designed by Philadelphia based DAS Architects, and features a sophisticated black and white color palette that underscores the brand’s holistic aesthetic. With 318 elegantly appointed guest rooms, there are 24 suites appointed with fully equipped kitchenettes and dramatic city views - making them perfect for long stay guests. Fairmont Gold members can access exclusive privileges for even more enhanced memorable experiences. A décor highlight is a pattern inspired by Wuhan’s historic Yellow Crane Tower, a destination landmark. This pattern is utilized throughout the hotel in guestrooms, floor patterns and other significant areas to bring a sense of place to the property. Other Chinese motifs seen throughout Fairmont Wuhan include intricate colorful embroidery, paper lanterns, and meticulously woven silk carpets.
Fairmont Wuhan’s food and beverage offerings include Jiang Court signature Chinese restaurant, 1907 Bar • Grill, Empress Pastries, Café CBD all day dining restaurant with a cozy al fresco area, and Lobby Lounge. Jiang Court offers Cantonese and Hubei dishes made from locally sourced, fresh organic produce, with Yichang pork and Xiaogan rice wine the notable menu highlights. The name of 1907 Bar • Grill pays tribute to the year where the first Fairmont hotel was established. The bar and grill with an ageing room where different cuts of beef are showcased for guests to choose, with advice from experienced chefs on how ageing intensifies a steak’s flavor profile. Empress Pastries displays an extensive range of bakes and desserts alongside finely handcrafted Belgium and Swiss chocolates and truffles. The Lobby Lounge is an intimate venue for casual business conversations, gatherings over drinks, or romantic rendezvous. Guests can linger over teas offered by a TWG tea cart (a first in Wuhan), in-house barista created caffeine beverages, fine wines including exquisite champagne labels, and snacks complementing everything such as light lunches, afternoon teas and happy hour canapés.
Fairmont Wuhan boasts over 2,000 square meters of MICE space. Its outstanding amenities include a grand ballroom, six versatile function rooms, and The Chapel – one-of-a-kind and the first indoor chapel in Wuhan, as well as an outdoor garden for wedding ceremony, special celebrations, exclusive events and private parties to create memorable moments. MICE planners and guests are supported by the thoughtful and professional Fairmont team with its celebrated Wedding Butler at the helm. Those seeking to unwind after a flurry of activities can indulge in pampering options at the signature Willow Stream Spa and treatments featuring renowned UK spa brand Aromatherapy Associates. Fairmont Fit fitness center is outfitted with Technogym equipment to optimize work outs. The naturally lit indoor swimming pool offers panoramic views of Wuhan’s CBD and includes curated underwater music for memorable swims. Rounding out Fairmont Fit are a Jacuzzi, plus yoga, sauna and steam rooms.
