For the fourth consecutive year, AccorHotels and emLyon business school have been working closely together on the In-Company Project (ICP) in partnership with Institut Paul Bocuse, as part of emLyon’s Master of Science (MSc) programme.
The In-Company Project gives students an insight into little known but interesting areas of the industry. The program is structured to equip students with basic operational learning experiences in the hospitality industry. Knowledge and skills acquired during the three semesters of the Master’s program will equip students the learning needs required in real life situations to resolve problems and the ability to come up with creative solutions to tackle situational circumstances.
Since 2015, AccorHotels and emLyon business school have launched several projects together that include pre-opening hotel events, corporate social responsibility and sustainability as well as various food & beverage activities. Some students have successfully secured internship programs with companies which gave them an opportunity to secure full-time employment. Graduates from the program went on to work in various management and operational roles across the hospitality industry and consulting firms.
“I have a longstanding interest in sustainability and hospitality and the In-Company Project gave me an opportunity to better understand the hospitality business and equipped me with the knowledge required in a serviced oriented industry,” said graduate student, Elise Favalier, who joined AccorHotels following the completion of her course. “The team responsible for this project was extremely hospitable and I have met a lot of great hoteliers who added to my learning experience in China especially in the areas of corporate social responsibility.”
“Since the program started, senior executives of AccorHotels in the Greater China region have taken the opportunity to offer their skills and expertise to provide support and guidance for the various initiatives and projects launched,” said Cory Winter, Vice President Food & Beverage, Chairman, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), AccorHotels Greater China. “This has given students looking to join the hospitality industry valuable insights of the hotel business. The project has given us an opportunity to identify talents and drive recruitment exercises around globe.”
As of today, including the fourth such graduation took place in Shanghai recently, a total of 45 students have benefited from the partnership between AccorHotels and In-Company Project.
