AccorHotels has appointed Jeremy Aniere to the position as Vice President Operations Greater China and General Manager of Sofitel Macau At Ponte 16. In his dual role, Jeremy will oversee 23 properties across the luxury and upscale brands in the region.
Born and educated in Perth, Australia, Jeremy has had 30 years’ experience in various roles throughout the hospitality spectrum. His hands-on management experiences in free standing F&B concepts have brought him the value of thinking outside the box.
Jeremy had his first stint in hotel operations with the Hyatt Group in Singapore. Subsequently, he took on various management positions with Hyatt Group and Shangri-la Hotels and Resorts for over 16 years in Australia, USA, the Philippines, Indonesia, Shanghai and Hong Kong among other places. In 2014, he joined AccorHotels as General Manager at the former Sofitel Wanda Beijing and went on to become General Manager at Sofitel Shenyang and Area General Manager for AccorHotels North China where he remained before embarking on his new role with the group.
“I’m very excited about my dual role and new responsibilities,” said Jeremy Aniere. “In Macau I see my priorities in ensuring a seamless transition in celebrating the hotel’s 10th year anniversary this summer. I look forward to working closely with the owning companies and the executive team across the 23 properties in the region.
“Empowerment and teamwork are key elements in the hotel to create memorable experiences for our guests. While human resources remain one of the greatest challenges in China as in many places today, as a service provider in the hospitality industry, we aim to equip and nurture our talents with continuous training to remain competitive.”
In his spare time, Jeremy enjoys various sporting activities, especially swimming, running and cycling. He participated in the AccorHotels’ Orbis charity ride in October 2016 and recently won a podium place in the STC Triathlon in Shanghai in 2017.
