Accor and Xiamen Airlines have signed a deal to bring the first Fairmont to Fujian Province for the city of Xiamen. An economic powerhouse that has become a favorite of entrepreneurs, developers and tourists alike, Xiamen is one of the fastest developing and most prosperous cities in China. With a continued increase in the sophistication of business and travel needs, Fairmont is poised to arrive in Xiamen as the demand for high-end accommodation dramatically escalates.
Gary Rosen, CEO Accor Greater China states, “We envision the Fairmont Xiamen becoming a global star in our renowned flagship lineup that includes such landmarks as Fairmont Peace Hotel in Shanghai, The SAVOY in London, The Plaza in New York and the Fairmont in San Francisco. The addition of the Fairmont Xiamen continues the momentum Accor has built over the years in China and our development goal of prime locations in key destinations. Furthermore, we are incredibly proud to be the first international hospitality group to bring a new luxury hotel to the market with Xiamen Airlines, a leading aviation innovator with which we share common values and vision for sustainability.”
Accor and Xiamen Airlines have lined up top-tier designers for this Fairmont Hotel. World famous Foster + Partners, founded by Norman Foster, winner of the Pritzker Architecture Prize, have been engaged as architects for the mixed-use project. Hospitality design specialists Cheng Chung Design have been selected for interior design and American firm SWA Group, known for their concepts creating harmonious natural systems, will head up the urban landscape design.
Fairmont Xiamen will be a 31-floor landmark hotel. The Fairmont Hotel is part of the Cross Strait Financial Center in the newly developed Wutong high-end business zone within Huli district in the northeast part of Xiamen Island. The central location of Fairmont Xiamen is ideal: 10 minutes from the International Conference and Exhibition Center, venue of the annual Straits Forum, within 15 minutes from Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport and a half-hour from Xiamen North Railway Station. The hotel is also close to commercial centers, shopping complexes, entertainment and lifestyle venues making it the best choice both business and leisure guests.
Partnering with Xiamen Airlines will make Fairmont an integral part of the city’s development, designating the hotel as a beloved hospitality choice for the local community, hosting exclusive celebrations and corporate meetings. And there is no doubt the Fairmont Xiamen will become the aspirational destination for luxury leisure travelers. Fairmont and Xiamen Airlines recognize the importance of human connection, and at the heart of the Fairmont service promise, Fairmont teams deliver an experience that turns moments into unforgettable memories, making every guest feel exceptional. Furthermore, the two companies recognize the importance of incorporating sustainability into the fabric of their brands.
