Fairmont Sanya Haitang Bay, an awe-inspiring destination like no other on the island, invites guests to indulge in the glorious atmosphere of the National Coast. Greatly anticipated, Accor’s latest flagship resort in Greater China, the Fairmont Sanya Haitang Bay has officially opened. In line with Fairmont Hotels and Resorts around the world, the Fairmont Haitang Bay Resort with its unique setting and authentic experience, combined with the exemplary service for which Fairmont is legendary, creates a transcendent retreat, imbued with the rich cultural heritage of China wrapped in the beauty and grandeur of a tropical paradise.
A team of acclaimed designers and architects including world-renowned interior designer Nick Winai Suansalee from Leo Design Group and landscape architecture by Francis Leung, the former Design Director of Belt Collins conceived a masterpiece for the resort. Steeped in Chinese traditions, feng shui and comprised of historic antique architectural components from Ming and Qing dynastic periods, Fairmont Sanya Haitang Bay looks out upon the beautiful golden coastline of the bay toward diver paradise Wuzhizhou Island. Sweeping views of the property encompass swaying palms by the white sand beach. The Yun River seawater canal, a first in hotels worldwide, winds its way throughout the property creating a calm presence and connecting guests to the elements of water, earth, nature and sky.
Gary Rosen, Accor Greater China CEO, states, “We are incredibly proud of the resort’s new culture created by the Fairmont authentic touch. Fairmont Sanya Haitang Bay ensures that guests connect with the essence of Sanya through the beauty and grandeur of the grand locale. We offer genuine experiences for all guests and for every need they may have and our incredible Fairmont Team delivers a service level that goes beyond guest expectations. This makes the destination a Fairmont.”
A destination within a destination, guests are swept up in the paradise that Fairmont Sanya Haitang Bay creates. At every turn, there is an opportunity for guests to engage in exploration and sensory delights, turning each moment into a heart warming memory. Crossing the traditional stone-arch Lounge Bridges leading to the main reception area balances the spirit and reminds guests to leave worries behind as they become guests of the resort. Fresh air and natural light flood the Grand Lobby which is as welcoming as it is marvellous and acquaints guests with the history and culture of the space. Dongyang wood carvings, cherished as China Intangible Cultural Heritage, which took over two years to complete, adorn walls and ceiling friezes and demonstrate a sense of grandeur and profoundness. The resort’s spacious guest rooms are equally beautiful with artisanal stone and wood touches. All rooms have balconies which may look upon the tropical gardens hiding more architectural relics in the resort.
Guests may recline on a dragon boat as they glide through lush greenery along the Yun River to visit the Qing-era Wooden Pagoda where daily Tai Chi presentations and zither performances are held. Or on to the Wood Art Gallery, an ancient Jiangnan courtyard-style house originally owned by tycoon Du Yuesheng. The gallery is surrounded by a verdant garden with peaceful fish ponds and showcases Huanghuali furniture and a collection of antique artefacts from both the Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty.
Fairmont Gold guests will be ferried to the exclusive wing, where higher levels of personalized service including a private, tranquil check-in and warm, customized experiences await. The Fairmont Memory Directors are on hand to anticipate, curate and plan exceptional visits for all guests. And not to be overlooked, petite VIPs are welcomed in special ways. Kids have their own spaces especially designed for them. The all new Kids’ Club is perfect for guests aged 5-13. There are also guest rooms designed specifically for families.
The Fairmont Events Team is acclaimed for making a celebratory occasion magical and a corporate meeting exceptional with the grand landscapes and facilities available at Fairmont Sanya Haitang Bay. Options include a 1,500sqm pillarless ballroom with a 10-meter pillarless ceiling and 2,800sqm of lawn and garden paradise. Notable indeed is the 1,540sqm Wood Gallery, an antique structure, which will set any celebration, but certainly Chinese traditional rituals or theme events, apart. Fairmont Sanya curates bespoke dream weddings for any couple with a range of extraordinary setting choices. Couples can choose to incorporate the tropical gardens, the Grand Lawn, the white sand beach and the Wooden Pagoda, each a place to create romantic memories to last a lifetime, into an unparalleled wedding spectacular.
