Time for bedtime stories! AccorHotels is delighted to introduce MyRoom across select properties. The exciting initiative transports guests into the imagination of each destination’s hotel staff, immersing them into a world filled with highly individualised passions, tastes and stories. Developed to address travellers’ desire for personalised experiences and stronger connections with their hosts, MyRoom allows guests to indulge in all the details of a handpicked guestroom based on insider knowledge. Along with guests gaining a deeper understanding of the property’s culture, MyRoom motivates hotel employees with an opportunity to develop one of a kind spaces based on their specific story.
In the end of 2015, MyRoom by AccorHotels was first launched in the NCEE zone including Eastern and Central Europe, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Benelux. The participating employees pick a guestroom, and sometimes two or three guestrooms, to style with colours, materials and accessories that together form their narrative. It could be an overwhelming passion for the local football team, or an interior that pays homage to the romance of the district’s architectural gems. By sharing similar interests between staff and guests, a stronger bond is forged that provide a deeper meaning to the stay.
In Greater China, from South of the Yangzi Region to the Fragrant Harbour, AccorHotels’ teams have allowed their inner designer to reign free. Their creative endeavours can be experienced through all the senses in each of the guestrooms they helped shape. Currently, 12 midscale and economy guestrooms in four Greater China hotels are part of the MyRoom programme. The singular rooms are an ideal way to convey AccorHotels’ ‘Feel Valued’ spirit with hotel teams by recognising their originality and innovative spirit. At the same time, MyRoom shares AccorHotels’ ‘Feel Welcome’ ideology with guests through unique and memorable stays, strengthening ties with their hosts.
“The MyRoom by AccorHotels programme motivates team members through an inventive new way of collaborative work. The voluntary approach allows staff from all levels the opportunity to drive an important project while stimulating their creativity,” said Thierry Brinte, Vice President Operations, AccorHotels Greater China. “For our hotel guests, MyRoom opens up a new universe for their stay that focuses on great story telling between ‘One Room, One Guest and One Employee’.”
In Greater China, four pilot midscale and economy hotels have been selected to showcase the MyRoom programme, with three customised guestrooms in each property. At Novotel Beijing Xinqiao, Lady Room is specially designed for female guests with a feminine layout, colour and decor, allowing ladies to relax in a tranquil sanctuary after a hectic out shopping. At Novotel Nanjing East Suning, Crazy Soccer Room underscores a love for football through an immersive space filled with footballs depicted on cushions, drapery and wallcovering. Guests can kick back on the green carpet and watch a game in action. At Novotel Century Hong Kong, the Fragrant Harbour Room was inspired by Hong Kong’s name and emphasises the city’s roots as a traditional fishing village prior to its transformation into the international financial hub that it is today. Houseware from bygone days such as oil lanterns and wall calendars are supported by an elegant deep red colour palette. At ibis Hong Kong Central and Sheung Wan, its Under the Sea Room submerges guests in a wave of dolphins and coral adorning the wall behind the bed, while whimsical touches such as starfish shaped cushions contrast with the blue of the sea offered by Victoria Harbour views.
Along with its launch in Greater China, MyRoom is rolling out in various regions across the globe. In Asia Pacific region, experience MyRoom at Novotel New Delhi Aerocity and Novotel Bengaluru Techpark in India; Novotel Clarke Quay and ibis Bencoolen in Singapore; or Mercure Jakarta Sabang and ibis Jakarta Harmoni in Indonesia.
