The exciting news continues with Accor as the group announces it has entered into a cooperation agreement with Ningbang Group to develop new Sofitel and Novotel hotels at the prominent project of Zhangjiajie Ningbang Plaza. The signing ceremony was arranged by the Zhangjiajie government and took place at the Third Signing Ceremony of Zhangjiajie 2020 – Connecting to the Top 500 Enterprises in Zhangjiajie on September 15, 2020.
Sofitel Zhangjiajie Ningbang will be the first international luxury hotel brand in the city. A sophisticated ambassador for contemporary French lifestyle that exemplifies the art of living, Sofitel Zhangjiajie Ningbang will establish a new benchmark for indulgence in Hunan province. Well-heeled Chinese and international travellers will appreciate the brand’s refined and understated interpretation of modern luxury.
Novotel Zhangjiajie Ningbang brings the Novotel concept of easy modern living to the city. Recognised as the world’s leading hotel brand, Novotel’s fundamental values of innovation, commitment to sustainable development, and consistently high quality standards make the brand a favourite for business guests, leisure seekers or families on vacation.
Zhangjiajie Ningbang Plaza will be home to both hotels, and promises to be a one-stop destination for metropolitan living in Zhangjiajie. Developed by Ningbang Group, the one million square meter urban complex is situated in Zhangjiajie’s Shadi New District. Alongside Accor’s two branded hotels, the project features a large shopping mall, a commercial street and sleek residences including SOHO apartments. Zhangjiajie Ningbang Plaza will set the city’s standard for mix-use complexes while further improving its tourism infrastructure and quality.
Shadi New District consolidates many major transportation hubs, with the most important being the High-speed Rail opposite Zhangjiajie Ningbang Plaza. Zhangjiajie Ningbang Plaza is strategically situated in between two important scenic sites – the UNESCO World Heritage inscribed Wulingyuan with its remarkable stone pillars and picturesque Tianmen Mountain. With the opening of Wulingshan Avenue earlier this year, it presents tremendous tourism resources and spurs the development of many commercial ventures. Zhangjiajie is dedicated to the transformation of leisure tourism industry. With the launch of the Zhangjiajie Ningbang Plaza, it is going to enhance new vitality to Zhangjiajie’s tourism development.
He Jinsong, Chairman of Ningbang Group, stated: “We at Ningbang Group are committed to the development and construction of Zhangjiajie, and support the government’s development plan. Through Zhangjiajie Ningbang Plaza, we actively seek multinational and cross-regional high-end brands to introduce collaborations and improve commercial experiences and quality. Accor is the world’s leading hotel group with more than half a century of history and mature brand operations knowledge. Accor’s luxury hotels and high-end brands are present throughout all key destinations globally. We feel it is the best choice for our strategic partner. With two major international hotels – namely Sofitel and Novotel, together we will create unique experiences and set a new luxury benchmark with Zhangjiajie Ningbang Plaza.”
Gary Rosen, Chairman and Chief Operating Officer, Accor Greater China, said, “Two of Accor’s most distinguished brands entering Zhangjiajie reinforces our commitment and trust in the burgeoning opportunities of the city as well as the on-going development of tourism and lifestyle enhancement in the province of Hunan. Sofitel, as Zhangjiajie’s first international luxury brand and the first Sofitel to grace Hunan, is perfectly complemented by Novotel, the world’s leading hotel brand and Accor’s founding classic brand. The two properties will offer Zhangjiajie locals and visitors a wealth of choice for their accommodations and lifestyle needs. Combined with the prime location of Zhangjiajie Ningbang Plaza, it will make the most vibrant destination in the city.”
Sofitel Zhangjiajie Ningbang boasts a 5-star experience with 400 guestrooms and suites; 1,800 square meter ballroom and function rooms; executive lounge and bar; lobby lounge, all-day restaurant, Chinese and specialty restaurants; spa and wellness facilities include an indoor swimming pool. Novotel Zhangjiajie Ningbang offers 550 guestrooms and suites; lobby lounge; fitness center; and all-day restaurant. The new Sofitel in Zhangjiajie is slated to open in 2023 while Novotel is to open in 2024.
