Grand Mercure has announced the iconic Hongge Hotspring Resort in Panzhihua located in China’s southern Sichuan province will join its growing network in 2018.
Opened in 2006, the resort was managed in 2010 by Kunming Iron & Steel Group, one of China’s largest state-owned enterprises.
Featuring 167 rooms including seven villas, the hotel offers an all-day dining restaurant, Chinese restaurant and Lobby Lounge. Its meeting facilities include a sizeable ballroom and five function rooms. Wellness facilities include an indoor and outdoor pool, gym and a hot spring centre.

With picturesque mountain views, Panzhihua is the only city in China named for a flower. Its landscape is dominated by natural surrounds. Attractions include the red cell spa, Cave Stone Forest, Jinsha River and Hai Lake.
Set amidst a beautiful garden surrounded by hot springs, the low rise resort is located next to the national baseball training centre. It is a 30-minute to drive to the city centre and train station, and 45 minutes from Panzhihua Airport. With the completion of the Chengdu-Kunming railway in 2019, travellers can enjoy a scenic 1.5 hour train ride to Kunming and a three-hour train ride to the capital province, Chengdu.
