Accor to open Mercure Telavi Resort in Georgia
The 124-room hotel to open in Kakheti region in 2024
"We are delighted to announce the signing of the new project in Georgia and the future premiere of Mercure brand in Kakheti region, one of the most picturesque regions of the country. The tourism industry in Georgia is growing fast and we are glad to contribute to its development and expand our presence in various regions of the country. I am grateful to our partners for their trust and confident that the opening of a new hotel under a well-known international brand will be another reason for travellers to stay longer in Kakheti region and enjoy its natural and historical beauties, ancient wineries, delicious cuisine and famous Georgian hospitality,” – notes Alexis Delaroff, COO of Accor New East Europe.
The hotel will occupy a new four-storey building in Ruispiri Village in Telavi, Kakheti region, at an altitude of 615 meters above sea level. Guests will be able to choose from 124 comfortable rooms and enjoy various wellness and dining facilities. The hotel infrastructure will also feature meeting facilities for business events and parking.
Telavi, the main city of Kakheti, is located on the picturesque slope of the Tsiv-Gombori Range, in the Alazani Valley with numerous vineyards – it is considered as the center of Georgian winemaking. The biodynamic winery Ruispiri is located within the walking distance from the hotel, and offers tastings of famous Georgian wines and local farm products. The hotel is surrounded by many churches with the famous Ikalto Monastery located only 9 minutes away by car.
The hotel's superb location will allow guests to enjoy river valleys, the Greater Caucasus mountain range and green meadows. The hotel is just within a 13-minute drive from the center of Telavi, where guests can visit the house-museum of King Erekle II, the Ethnographic Museum and the Picture Gallery. The transfer from Telavi Airport will take approximately 25 minutes by car.
The four-star Mercure Telavi Resort is scheduled to open in 2024.
