Accor, a world leading hospitality group, continues to expand TRIBE across Europe, with the opening of TRIBE Riga City Centre, the first hotel under the design-led brand to be introduced in Latvia and the Baltic States.
TRIBE opens its doors in the Art Nouveau district of Riga city centre, with the city’s coolest restaurants, bars, nightlife, museums and architecture a stone’s throw away. The new hotel features 81 cleverly designed rooms with either city or courtyard views, as well as carefully curated spaces designed to offer the freedom to rest, stay, play or work.
Founded in 2017 in Australia, TRIBE promises "more for less" and represents a bold design edit for travellers who crave stylish and modern hotels at an affordable price. TRIBE hotels are designed to give guests everything they need and nothing they don’t.
The latest addition in Latvia builds on a growing portfolio of more than 15 hotels from Perth and Bangkok to London and Paris, from the famous Kuta beach in Bali to the spa town of Baden-Baden in Germany and now Riga. The brand is set to continue its growth trajectory, with a pipeline of over 40 hotels expected to open within the next five years, with three quarters of these projects based in Europe.
Some of the upcoming TRIBE openings in Europe include TRIBE Paris Clichy and TRIBE Paris Pantis, in addition to TRIBE Manchester Airport and TRIBE Dusseldorf later in the year. Other openings in the pipeline beyond 2024 include TRIBE Budapest Airport and TRIBE Krakow Stare Miasto in 2025 and TRIBE Mainz in 2026.
Philippe Bijaoui, Chief Development Officer Europe North Africa for Accor’s Premium, Midscale & Economy division commented: “TRIBE is a brand with incredible potential, particularly in Europe. There is a big market for travellers who crave stylish and modern hotels, giving them more for less. It’s a great example of what we are doing across our portfolio to make our hotels community hubs that appeal to those in the local neighbourhood, as much as those visiting from afar; and that strategy will bring huge benefits for owners in terms of ancillary revenues and the value of their assets, alongside breaking the glass ceiling for rates within the midscale brands.”
Like all TRIBE hotels, TRIBE Riga City Centre offers a number of contemporary features like a rain shower, personal steamer in each room and Kevin Murphy amenities in the bathrooms. Perfect for work or leisure, the hotel is located only 9km away from Riga International Airport and offers convenient access to public transport in the city. Rooms are also pet friendly upon request.
“Tribe Riga City Centre is a testament to our commitment to bring international lifestyle trends and energy, reaching diverse travellers from Latvia, Europe and far beyond: professionals, creatives, urban explorers and digital nomads who seek hotels with intelligent, functional, design-driven spaces at a fair price in must-visit destinations worldwide. We believe this new hotel will win the hearts of guests as well as the local neighbourhood with its unique offer and vibe” said Pauline Oster, TRIBE’s Vice President at Accor Europe & North Africa.
Other recent openings under the TRIBE brand in Europe, include TRIBE Milano Malpensa in Italy in February 2024, in addition to two properties in France, TRIBE Paris Saint-Ouen and TRIBE Lyon Croix Rousse; its first hotel in Germany, TRIBE Baden Baden; and TRIBE Budapest Stadium in Hungary.
One of the key reasons for the brand’s burgeoning popularity is the numerous lifestyle elements, with fresh and vibrant areas to work, play, or relax. The brand appeals to locals as well as travellers, with social hubs and spaces designed to connect. Key examples include TRIBE Budapest Stadium, which is set to open a rooftop bar with skyline views of Budapest this spring; and TRIBE London Canary Wharf, whose on-site restaurant - Feels Like June - offers a Californian-inspired, all day dining experience popular with locals and out-of-towners alike.
Each hotel is home to a communal Social Hub, suiting the needs of remote workers as well as those looking for a place to switch off, with a coffee and cocktail bar plus a 24-hour Grab & Go counter, plus a variety of TRIBE table restaurant concepts.
