The inspiration for the greet Wien City Nord hotel’s theme and interior design is the Viennese allotment garden, which can be found even beyond the borders of the 21st district. The color scheme is inviting, with muted greens and blues, as well as warm earth tones from umber to ochre. Natural materials are used wherever possible, and the motifs are also borrowed from nature. Furniture includes numerous items related to the allotment garden theme or the trending topic of “urban gardening” which have been repurposed, recycled, or redesigned. For example, wheelbarrows are transformed into comfortable lounge chairs, or garden tools such as spades, rakes, secateurs, and watering cans are used as stylish decoration pieces. Wooden cable reels serve as tables, while the walls in the restaurant area serve as a horizontal garden that makes sensible use of space while contributing to the pleasant indoor atmosphere.
SUSTAINABLE MEETS SOCIAL, BUT MAKE IT STYLE
With greet, Accor is appealing to a target group that is aware of the social and environmental challenges of a world of mass consumption and that wants to use its decisions to help shape a better future. Shared experience, inclusion, and responsible action in relation to society and the environment are therefore just as important at greet as sustainability. In addition to the lovingly designed rooms with individual accents, the greet Wien City Nord concept also applies to the areas shared by all its guests. This includes the breakfast and restaurant area, which is both a meeting place and working area, the relaxation area with a bar, and the communal table with a second-chance boutique.
The opening is scheduled for February 2023.
