Brussels, 11 December 2017 – Novotel Charleroi Centre today officially opened its doors on the second floor of the busy Rive Gauche shopping centre in Charleroi. The hotel, styled by the Brussels-based designer Dominique Hottois, has 123 bedrooms, and is the first Novotel hotel in Belgium in which the rooms are based on the brand’s latest concept. With its central location, modern design and welcoming ambience, Novotel Charleroi Centre remains true to the brand’s philosophy, while at the same time becoming the city’s newest hotspot.
The hotel entrance and lobby are located on the second floor of the Rive Gauche shopping centre, immediately opposite Charleroi-South railway station. The hotel is surrounded by shops, restaurants and bars, and Brussels South Charleroi Airport is just ten kilometres away. One real eye-catcher of Novotel Charleroi Centre is the unique roof terrace. Centrally located, the hotel will appeal to tourists, locals, shoppers and business travellers alike. With more than one thousand parking spaces in the Rive Gauche car park, there is always plenty of parking available.
Charleroi has been undergoing a real upturn for some years, and the arrival of the Rive Gauche shopping centre in March 2017 has given new impetus to the city. AccorHotels thus bagged itself a unique and strategic location for its newest Novotel in Belgium. Denys Sappey, COO HotelServices AccorHotels BeNeLux: “The opening of the Rive Gauche shopping centre brought a breath of fresh air to the city of ‘Carolos’, as its residents are known. The opening of Novotel Charleroi Centre allows us to contribute to this multi-faceted city’s growing reputation. We are delighted to add this to our selection of hotels in the south of Belgium.”
The 123 bedrooms at Novotel Charleroi Centre are modern and comfortably furnished in line with the brand’s latest room concept. They are equipped with luxury rain showers and a bed designed by Novotel to ensure a good night’s sleep. For the public areas, the designer has chosen a sustainable, modern and welcoming ambience featuring plenty of wood, warm colours and a mix of fabrics and accessories. A real wall of books on the mezzanine and a choice of comfortable lounge sofas create a relaxed environment.
For guests wanting to unwind after a long day’s work, shopping or sightseeing, there is the hotel’s inviting, modern and informal GourmetBar. Visitors and Carolos alike can enjoy drinks, cocktails and delicious local dishes served right through the day here. It can be summed up as pure and authentic cuisine with something for everyone. Novotel has long been known for its child-friendly approach, with children under 16 staying for free in their parents’ room. Novotel Charleroi Centre also has a special ’Kids Corner’, allowing parents to enjoy a drink in the GourmetBar while their children are playing. The hotel has three modern meeting rooms with full facilities for business guests.
