The hotel obtained an amazing international recognition for its distinctive interior design theme, inspired by the Romanian traditional blouse, "ia", in one of the most reputable design competitions in the region, BIGSEE Awards, in the Slovenian capital, Ljubljana. The hotel design holds the signature of Arhi Grup design and architecture studio and has been created by a team coordinated by Bogdan Stoica, George Mihalache, Andreea Nicolae.
ibis Styles Bucharest City Center opened in June 2020 and, ever since, it surprised local and international guests with its lively and creative décor, depicting traditional motifs, interpreted in an urban, contemporary fashion. Located centrally, at the crossroads of Știrbei and Buzești boulevards, the hotel is the ideal setting to start exploring the city, both for leisure and business. It offers 152 rooms, a cozy restaurant for 130 people, Hanu' de pe Stirbei, and a conference room with a maximum capacity of 200 seats. The hotel also provides an underground parking with 48 spaces and a gym. The hotel theme is the Romanian "Ia": "Ia" is a blouse worn traditionally by Romanian women, made by hand, with patterns that have not changed for hundreds of years. The symbols embroidered on it are not simply esthetical, each one having its own meaning, depending on region, the person who sewed them and the one who will wear them.
"Receiving an award from such a reputed international authority in design is a great satisfaction and reward for the hotel team, the passionate hoteliers who give life to these walls every day and fill them with smiles and positive energy. We will continue to be among the leading choices of travelers coming to Bucharest and remain committed to pleasing and surprising them at every visit," stated Alina Vlădulescu, Hotel General Manager, ibis Styles Bucharest City Center.
The hotel's unique design combines traditional inspiration and modern design trends and materials. The ibis Styles Bucharest City Center is like an urban village that lives right in the heart of the bursting city. As guests first step into the hotel, the bright and cheerful mosaic of tapestries on the reception wall catches their attention. Soon after, guests notice the antique carpentry bench, right below the translucent reception table. Subtle led lighting fixtures, in the shape of traditional Romanian motifs surprise them. The expanded metal ceiling evokes the transparency of the Romanian blouse – "ia". Its ethereal texture lets the light pass through and creates immaterial volumes.
The hotel rooms also embrace the theme of the hotel and present traditional motifs, as part of a modern, distinctive design. Each floor of ibis Styles Bucharest City Center is dressed in a bright, upbeat color, such as yellow, orange, green, blue, and invites guests to discover and experience them all.
