Paris, February 17th, 2015 – Have you always dreamed of displaying quirky designer objects in your living room? Can you imagine owning the latest Constance Guisset, Xavier Pauchard, Thierry D’Istria or Charles & Ray Eames that surprised you in one of the ibis Styles hotels? As part of its drive to make the world of design accessible to as many people as possible, the brand has decided to go for it and will be running a downright wacky, totally connected and 100% design-centered operation called “Capture ibis Styles” from March 13th to May 13th, 2015. The idea is simple: on the Instagram account @captureibisstyles, you can win the super creative pieces signed by well-known or up-and-coming designers that are in the brand’s showcase hotels!
In a nutshell, ibis Styles is 250 hotels and 250 styles. Each hotel has its own distinctive character revolving around a central theme steeping its various areas: the Olympic Games in the ibis Styles Paris Massena, wines in the ibis Styles Madrid Prado, textiles at the ibis Styles Lille Centre Grand Place, aviation at the ibis Styles Sao Paulo Anhembi and so forth. Design is one of this brand’s cornerstones. It’s all about treating its guests to constantly renewed contemporary creativity with unusual, unprecedented and unpredictable experiences. The “Capture ibis Styles” operation is perfectly in tune with this approach! |
CAPTURE IBIS STYLES: PAY WITH LIKES AND WIN DESIGNER ITEMS!
The ibis Styles hotels are full of quirky, ultra trendy designer objects and the brand’s plan is to focus on their originality and give each of object a symbolic price tag in “likes” on Instagram, so that the general public can win them.
From March 13th to May 13th 2015, plenty of people, including ibis Styles customers, will be able to win the objects up for grabs with “Capture ibis Styles”! This all-digital operation will revolve around Instagram, the photo-sharing social network that fosters an aesthetic, visual approach.
This unique international experience is the BETC Digital agency’s brainchild, and will be running in 6 countries (France, Germany, the UK, Italy, Spain and Brazil).
15 ‘showcase’ hotels will be staging four designer objects in their public areas. Among the full range of rewards, customers will be pleased to find Alessandro Guidolin’s Temperino stool, Godefroy de Virieu’s shuttlecock lamp or Tejo Remy’s Milkbottle lamp.
To take the experience even further, the hotels have also brought in up-and-coming designers to complete their existing collections. The brand works on a regular basis with a “laboratory” for high-potential, contemporary designers and is offering a selection of their latest creations: Sybille Pfeiffer’s stag-head coat rack, Hanna Emelie Ernsting’s eminently original Petstools Ella pouf, or Pierre Stadelmann’s endearing off-the-wall Waaf lamp.

DESIGN FOR ALL AND ALL FOR DESIGN
No two ibis Styles hotels are alike – but you instantly recognize their bold, modern character. Design is all about generosity and friendliness. These two vital values shine through the free, wide open areas, and the new and improved ergonomics throughout the buildings.
All hoteliers receive the inspiration booklet, which encapsulates the brand’s essentials, for their hotels. Then they choose a designer to on-board and enhance the ibis Styles universe – naturally in keeping with the most uncompromising comfort and quality standards. These hotels are signs of the times, and make a point of treating guests to cozy, friendly atmospheres.
“Design is at the core of everything we think about at ibis Styles. It’s the 50s in Le Havre and a 360° immersion in the Beatles universe in Liverpool, for example. The hotels treat their guests to a genuine designer experience and are brimming with quirky, totally up-to-the-minute objects, ‘thanks to an equation combining creativity, services and price’. And it’s all steeped in the ‘Happy Mood’, the brand’s overarching leitmotiv,” explains Frédéric Fontaine, the ibis Family’s Senior VP Global Marketing. |
